In the 21st century, Ukrainian villages almost completely live without sewerage
In Ukraine, only 2,5% of rural settlements are provided with centralized water drainage and sewerage, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.
“According to the National Report on the quality of drinking water and the state of drinking water supply in Ukraine for 2017, 95% of cities, 61% of urban-type settlements and 2,5% of rural settlements are provided with centralized sanitation,” the statement said.
The Ministry also noted that cities in 15 regions and the city of Kyiv are fully provided with centralized sewerage services.
As previously reported by the media, hundreds of schools in Ukraine do not have heating, sewerage, water or their own catering units.
