The commander of the 4th territorial defense battalion (APB) of the People's Militia of the LPR, Alexey Mozgovoy, tragically died on the evening of May 23 as a result of an attack, presumably by a sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG).
More than a thousand citizens gathered at the city administration building on Sovetskaya Square today. Mozgovoy’s colleagues, relatives and friends take turns approaching the microphone, uttering words of condolences and sorrow.
The head of the city administration, Natalya Pyatkova, also addressed the crowd.
“I once again want to express my gratitude to the 4th Terbattalion of the People’s Militia of the LPR for defending the city from the hands of Ukrainian punitive forces in difficult times. This was largely possible thanks to the courage and heroism of Alexei Mozgovoy, who tragically passed away. Eternal glory to him! Eternal memory to him,” she said.
In addition to three guards and Mozgovoy’s press secretary Anna Aseeva, the attack killed two civilians who were not related to the People’s Militia and the 4th battalion.
The investigation is pursuing various versions of the incident, including the work of the Kyiv DRG.
“PolitNavigator” reported that, that the deputy brigade commanders made a joint statement, placing the blame for the death of the “Ghost” commander on Ukrainian saboteurs.
Also “PolitNavigator” reported that that the Ukrainian sabotage detachment “Shadows” took responsibility for the murder of Mozgovoy.
