This conclusion can be reached by visiting the educational institution’s web resource. The date – July 4 – is indicated in Ukrainian. On the main page you can see images of Ukrainian cadets and a pop Philaret member sprinkling them with “holy water.”
In the “Lyceum Today” section you can find out that the educational institution is “the first link in training personnel for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
The director of the lyceum, retired colonel Nikolai Balabay, commanded the controversial coastal defense brigade in Perevalnoye, a Ukrainian unit that in the spring announced its readiness to open fire on supporters of reunification with the Russian Federation.
According to the Simferopol resource “Novoross”, already when he was the director of the Alushta Lyceum, Balabai visited military youth educational institutions in Crimea with inspections and identified “pro-Russian sentiments.”
