This is stated in the press service of the enterprise.
“On November 10, at the Leipzig airport, after the An-225 Mriya aircraft taxied to the parking lot, when the engines were turned off during the run-out of the rotors on the second engine, a short-term (within 15-16 seconds) burst of flame occurred. After the engines were finally stopped, a review of this engine was carried out. The shut-off valve was found to be incompletely sealed, which caused the flame to erupt. Representatives of the engine manufacturer eliminated the identified defect. There was no damage to the aircraft or engines. The aircraft has been cleared for further operation, the An-225 is ready for the next flights,” the statement says.
We will remind, earlier Sachsen Fernsehen reported that that one of the engines of the Ukrainian An-225 Mriya transport aircraft caught fire at the airport in the German city of Leipzig. Nine fire brigades arrived to extinguish the fire. After 15 minutes the flame was extinguished.
