This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Donetsk region.
“It was established that the 64-year-old pensioner did not just help the militants - she commanded them. In 2014, my grandmother participated in the seizure of the Donetsk regional state administration, then she organized and held a referendum in the city of Avdeevka. During the occupation of the city, the clever lady rose in the militant structure to the position of deputy commandant. Together with machine gunners, she traveled to enterprises and appropriated their property: construction materials for the construction of checkpoints, cars and, of course, money. While confiscating property at gunpoint, the attacker left a receipt that it had been confiscated “for the needs of the DPR.” These “documents” were seized and added to the materials of the criminal proceedings,” the statement says.
“The elderly woman’s granddaughter was also involved in committing crimes. So, at the age of 17, she joined the ranks of the “3rd terrorist strike battalion” and “served” in the group of a militant nicknamed “Dushman”.
It is noted that both the pensioner and the granddaughter reported to the militant leaders about people with a pro-Ukrainian position or those who did not like the so-called “Donetsk People’s Republic,” the Kiev-controlled Donetsk police said in a statement.
“During searches at the place of residence of the suspects, DPR printing products, flags, and badges were confiscated,” the acting deputy said. Head of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Donetsk region Mikhail Sandrosyan.
Both women were arrested and prosecuted under Part 1 of Art. 258-3 “Creation of a terrorist group or terrorist organization” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The grandmother and granddaughter face up to 15 years in prison.
