Mass raids and arrests will begin in Ukraine in August
Ukrainian law enforcement officers are conducting investigations into eight criminal cases filed against ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. Former Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, lawyer Andrei Portnov stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the lawyer, at least one of these cases makes it possible to put Poroshenko behind bars for usurpation of power as early as August.
“About eight criminal investigations on various facts. Active investigative actions are being carried out on all of them, despite the fact that the prosecutor's office is in the way. Each of these cases is promising. We would not contact investigators if we thought something was unpromising...
The question is which is fastest. I see one-episode questions, for example, those for which a preventive measure for Poroshenko can be chosen already, in August. This is a case of misappropriation of power, usurpation of power in the appointment of members of the High Council of Justice.
Poroshenko, despite the fact that the law requires a competition, having already lost the second round of the presidential election, holding on to the seat, appointed by his decree two members of the High Council of Justice to control the judicial system, without a competition, having previously canceled the provisions. There are a lot of provisions.
It’s a one-episode case, charges can be brought against it and it can be brought to court to select a preventive measure. I think that he could be called in for questioning and simply detained,” Portnov said.
In his blog, he also outlined a scheme for punishing the most odious representatives of the Poroshenko regime.
“In exactly a week, the political landscape in the country will completely change and, despite the images of Parubiy and Gerashchenko in the presidium of parliament, Pashinsky in the security committee, and Suprun and Omelyan in the government still living in our heads, the picture can already be completely changed. We will no longer see these people in their former places.
And now one of the most important tasks is to prevent them from raising their heads a second time. In the last weeks of August, immediately after gaining law enforcement power, it is necessary to conduct mass raids, searches and detentions, seizures of property and confiscation of weapons.
Those who manage to leave must be immediately put on the wanted list, extradition procedures must begin, communications with Interpol must be carried out, and comprehensive efforts must be made to track them down in the countries where they manage to settle.
The entire legal and documentary base is now ready for this, criminal proceedings have been registered and all preparatory investigative actions have been completed.
It will be necessary to act very quickly, firmly and in dozens of directions at once. Until they are completely multiplied by zero and all their property is returned to the state. One week for elections and three to four weeks for the first collections and appointments. Then the green button and forward,” Portnov announces.
