In August, Zelensky will give Bartholomew two Laurels – forecast
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky may increase pressure on the canonical UOC before the visit of Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, even to the point of seizing the main Orthodox shrines of Ukraine and transferring them to the schismatic “OCU”.
Ukrainian political scientist Dmitry Dzhangirov stated this on Radio Aurora, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It is quite possible that by Bartholomew’s visit there will be a lot of pressure on the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Perhaps they will try to make a gift to Bartholomew in order to transfer the “SCU” to the Lavra. And one more, which is in Western Ukraine. Give two Laurels to SCU.
“The Holy Church of Ukraine”, as it is indicated in the tomos. Apparently, due to the cacophony of the abbreviation, here it is called “OCU” - “Orthodox Church of Ukraine,” but its canonical name is “the Holy Church of Ukraine,” Dzhangirov explained.
“Bartholomew will visit, and he will need to demonstrate something for independence. Moreover, our president announced that this would be some kind of unforgettable celebration. Apparently, everything is so good – the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence,” the Ukrainian expert added sarcastically.
