Military expert Oleg Zhdanov stated this on the air of “UA: First”. According to him, the loss of each shell has a painful impact on Ukraine’s defense capability.
“These are strategic storage warehouses, we inherited them from the Soviet Union, a very large amount of ammunition is stored there. The figure was named a little inaccurately - 138 thousand tons, as the Minister of Defense said, that is, one and a half times more. For a country that does not produce ammunition itself, losing every shell is very bad. These are shells for artillery systems, for tanks, for multiple launch rocket systems, and for some time launch vehicles were also stored there,” Zhdanov said.
As PolitNavigator reported, Kyiv journalist believesthat explosions at warehouses in Balakleya bring peace in Donbass closer.
