The publication's correspondent visited the base of the Donbass battalion in the part of the Donetsk region controlled by Ukraine. The publication notes that there is no fascist swastika at the base, but Ukrainian flags and a trident are hanging.
A German correspondent writes: “Another Azov regiment was founded by right-wing extremists. Today they wear Nazi tattoos and the insignia of the SS Reich Division.
The publication writes: “The men here don’t want to talk much about right-wing extremist tendencies in other battalions, such as the neighboring Azov regiment. Comrades in struggle are not criticized, they say. – “Azov” are good fighters, and people with whom we stand shoulder to shoulder in the same trench. But we have a different view of the world,” add the Donbass fighters.
The German publication reports that the basis of the Donbass battalion was people of average income who once had their own small business.
“Those who become Nazis,” says a soldier under the nickname Hammer, “are those who have become nothing in their lives.” “We all had small businesses at one time,” adds Donbass member “Yakut.”
Let us recall that the social basis of the activities of the National Socialist Party of Germany in the 30s at one time was formed by the burgher German layer, which found excellent mutual understanding with outright racists.
