Belarus is concerned about Zelensky's antics with NATO
Belarus should pay attention to the visit of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg to Ukraine, which is planned for the end of October.
Political scientist Alexei Dzermant stated this in an interview with the Belarusian TV channel ONT, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In my opinion, NATO’s presence in Ukraine does not lead to peace. If they are trying to do something there, most likely for other purposes. A peaceful settlement involves the participation of peacekeepers from third neutral countries. But they can use the conflict in Ukraine for escalation, as a catalyst. There is a strong war party there. President Zelensky, unfortunately, does not yet fully control the situation in the state. Therefore, we must carefully monitor what they are doing there,” Dzermant said.
In his opinion, the danger comes from all of Belarus’ neighbors, except Russia.
“I use a metaphor like “Belarusian balcony”, and not with very positive connotations. The fact that we are territorially exposed in a western direction, and on three sides we have not very calm neighbors, unfortunately,” Dzermant said.
