A traitor was caught in Belarus for leaking information about the suppression of Belomaidan to the Ministry of Internal Affairs to Poland.
Employees of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus and SOBR soldiers detained a 24-year-old native of the Mogilev region, who intended to participate in mass riots and commit crimes against the state.
The young man resisted the arrest and had a knife with him, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus reports, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Until the fall of last year, the detainee served under a contract in Vitebsk and repeatedly traveled abroad for training as part of special operations forces. He was fired for his destructive views and participation in street protests.
After moving to the Minsk region, the young man contacted the Poland-based BYPOL group on a Telegram channel, which unites fugitive law enforcement officers who oppose Lukashenko and support Belomaidan.
The man began to “leak” information about the Directorate of Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus to Poland, then received his first task - to check the accuracy of the information about GUBOP employees sent by their former colleague Luponosov.
To do this, the informant came to the home of one of the operatives, talked with his wife, but ran away when he saw a policeman on the landing.
A few days later, the defendant received a new assignment - to identify and photograph the car of the same operative, and record his parking spots in the photographs.
Soon after this he was detained. He explained that he sought to put pressure on the police to stop suppressing protests, and that he is now ready for radical actions, including the use of weapons.
“In August 2020, I took part in unauthorized mass events, maintained contacts with anarchist Nikolai Dedko, and corresponded with BYPOL representatives, to whom I informed about the work of the Special Operations Forces Directorate,” the detainee said. – Later on this BYPOL channel the data of police officers was published. After which I went to the place of residence of one of them, I did not find a police officer there, since he was not there, only his family. I met him directly on the first floor, on the landing. I decided that he might take measures to detain me, so I ran away.
After that, I sent the received data to the BYPOL channel. I also received from them the following instructions for collecting data from police officers.”
Investigators opened a criminal case for interference in the activities of internal affairs officers.
