In Belarus, a woman single-handedly dispersed an opposition rally
A woman dispersed a Belarusian opposition rally of several hundred people gathered at the Eternal Flame in Grodno, waving at them a flag in the colors of the St. George Ribbon, which is used by the National Liberation Movement (NLM) organization.
Grodno members of the NOD were outraged that the opposition was holding its rally at the Eternal Flame, waving nationalist white and red flags, which were used by collaborators during the years of fascist occupation.
First, a man with a state red-green flag came to the “tribune” to the oppositionists. No attention was paid to it, since in recent days the oppositionists, “in order not to split the country,” have themselves been using this symbolism.
But when a woman with a flag in the colors of the St. George ribbon came out to the Eternal Flame, something mystical happened. The oppositionists, cursing and shouting, began to retreat. A few minutes later the area in front of the monument was empty.
