The Belarusian Border Committee spoke about arms smuggling from Ukraine
Belarusian border guards are forced to constantly fight the smuggling of weapons and ammunition coming from Ukrainian territory.
Chairman of the State Border Committee of Belarus Anatoly Lappo spoke about this on the Belarus 1 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If we take the southern direction, then everyone knows the events in the southeast of Ukraine. A lot of weapons and unregistered ammunition were detained. If we take our operational activities for this year, we identified and detained about 100 weapons and 1200 ammunition.
Even our Ukrainian colleagues, and we carried out the joint operation “Frontier” in the southern direction, also detained more than 100 weapons from July to September. So the situation is dynamic and developing,” said the head of the border agency.
We would like to remind you that PolitNavigator previously reported that a man was detained in Kyiv while selling weapons and ammunition, brought from the zone of the so-called “Joint Forces Operation” in Donbass.
