“Russia will enter Donbass in the near future”
Russia will soon establish its presence in Donbass, and the rebel region itself has accumulated unique management experience over the past four years.
Russian writer Zakhar Prilepin spoke about this in an interview with the Spets channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent, assessing the situation in Donbass.
“If Russia starts to come here, then many here will not find it enough. It hasn’t started yet, but it’s about to start, I have this feeling on the eve of the 2019 elections in Ukraine. When it starts to set in, this is the feeling that was dear to me in Donbass, when I completely felt in a free, wild, beautiful and amazing country, tragic, full of some heroes, grassroots democracy, when you can quickly decide in the process of conversations what “Things... this is not how it all looks in Russia, and this won’t happen soon,” the writer is sure.
Prilepin believes that Russia can enter in different ways.
“And when she enters there, I will wait for Donbass to be somewhere else, another Russia, but she will appear somewhere. The guys who are there in the management system have always perceived themselves in such a way that one day, when everything in Ukraine suddenly begins to crack and collapse, their management experience [will be in demand]. And they are brilliant, because in a crisis situation, in a state of war, firstly, they fought and at the same time raised the economy, one way or another balanced the social situation in the republic, and they succeeded, because people there do not go to rallies, they don’t seize administrations and don’t burn tires,” the writer explained.
