The conflict in Donbass will not be resolved in the next 100 years
The only way to resolve the Donbass issue and freeze the armed conflict is recognition of the DPR and LPR by the Russian Federation.
Political scientist Alexander Okhrimenko stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At the moment, all that Russia can do is to recognize the independence of the DPR and LPR, the “Abkhaz option” and freeze the situation for the next 100 years, but introduce peacekeepers to the demarcation line,” the political expert believes.
Okhrimenko compared the situation in Donbass with a similar one in Abkhazia, when the Russian Federation recognized the independence of the two republics.
“Then Russia finances the DPR and LPR, established diplomatic relations and in 100 years we can return to this, but not in the near future. In fact, we got a second Abkhazia. Do you want to call Jammu and Kashmir the same thing? The Minsk agreements, whether we like it or not, are dead,” he states.
We would like to remind you that PolitNavigator previously reported that a special monitoring mission OSCE discovered a camouflaged howitzer at Ukrainian Armed Forces positions in the village of Dyleevka, Konstantinovsky district, Donetsk region.
