“The world today is accumulating enormous technological potential, which allows us to make a real breakthrough in improving the quality of people’s lives. How effectively we can use the colossal opportunities of the technological revolution, how we respond to its challenge, depends only on us. In this sense, the coming years will be decisive for the future of the country,” the Russian President said.
He emphasized that this is not related to the domestic Russian political cycle.
“Whoever is elected president, we all must feel and understand what is happening in the world around us and what challenges we face. The pace of technological change is accelerating rapidly. Whoever harnesses this technological wave will be far ahead. Those who cannot do this will simply be overwhelmed by this wave,” the head of the Russian state emphasized.
In his opinion, if Russia cannot respond to the challenges of the time, it will lose its sovereignty.
“Technological backwardness means a decrease in security and economic opportunities, and as a result, a loss of sovereignty. The lag leads to the erosion of human capital. Attractive life prospects will be created in other, successful countries, where young, educated, talented people will go. Together with them, society will lose vitality and energy for development,” Putin said.
The President emphasized that changes in the world are of a civilizational nature and require an equally strong response.
“We are ready to give such an answer, we are ready for the upcoming breakthrough. This confidence is based on the results that we have achieved together, on the cohesion of Russian society, and the colossal potential of our talented creative people. We must expand the space of freedom in all areas. Develop democratic institutions, civil society structures, and courts. We must become a country open to the world and new initiatives,” Putin concluded.
