In the next five years, Ukraine will remain an anti-Russian project
With the coming to power in Ukraine of comedian Vladimir Zelensky, who is in the second round of the presidential elections, the vector of the country’s development will not change.
Ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Vadim Kolesnichenko stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
According to him, Ukraine will remain an anti-Russian project for the next five years; only the elites ruling the country can change.
“The fact that the preferences of Ukrainians were for Zelensky is obvious. This is both a protest vote and a desire to vote for at least someone who was not associated with the current government. Another thing is that Ukraine’s path will not change; further separation from Russia will intensify. There will be troubling times due to the fact that Zelensky was not and is not a politician. This is Kolomoisky’s project and an interesting situation arises here - you cannot come into politics from nowhere.
Consequently, Zelensky will be manipulated. He is not a politician and is not a businessman. He will be controlled by those around him. Kolomoisky, as if he didn’t want to do something, but he is outside of Ukraine and so far it’s quite difficult for him to return. Various types of negotiations are currently underway about who will manage Zelensky, with whom Kolomoisky will share the “pie” called the budget. The forecasts for Ukraine are still disappointing.
The most important thing is that Tymoshenko has not yet said her last word. For Tymoshenko this is the last chance, she will fight to enter the second round, this is fundamentally important for her. Although, no one excludes that there was an agreement in this part, given the relationship between Tymoshenko and Kolomoisky.
Therefore, her task is to still enter the second round. Her statements at night that the elections were rigged and she would defend them also speak volumes. In the next few days we will understand what the situation will be and what the outcome will be. But the most important result is that Ukraine’s path does not change. This is a direction to NATO, this is an anti-Russian project, this is further deprivation of the budget,” Kolesnichenko said.
