In Bulgaria, opponents of the prime minister blocked the Ministry of Justice
Activists calling for the resignation of the Prime Minister, the government and the Prosecutor General of Bulgaria came to the building of the Bulgarian Ministry of Justice to present the head of the department with a letter of resignation.
After the minister did not come out to them, the protesters blockaded the building, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
On the fortieth day of protests against the pro-Western Prime Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov, his cabinet and Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev, part of the protesters representing the Fighter movement came to the Justice Ministry building in Sofia and demanded a meeting with its head Danail Kirilov.
The activists intended to hand the minister a resignation letter, which he, in their opinion, should have signed, but after they were refused entry into the building, they threw eggs at it and set up an impromptu camp near it, blockading it.
“We do not accept the mafia, which is going to write a new Constitution,” said “Fighter” representative Georgi Georgiev, commenting on Borisov’s earlier initiatives to amend the basic law of the country. “The only thing we want from them is resignation.”
At the same time, according to a recent Gallup International poll conducted from July 30 to August 7, trust in the pro-Western prime minister in Bulgarian society has fallen sharply, while the rating of the socialist president who opposes him, Rumen Radev, is much higher.
Thus, according to the fund, 47% of respondents trust Radev, 35% do not trust him; Only 20% of Bulgarian citizens trust Boyko Borisov, 68% do not trust him.
