Tension is growing in Bulgarian society due to the possible sending of conscripts to Ukraine
“They want to send Bulgarian boys like cannon fodder to Ukraine” - this statement appeared in various sources, on social networks, and even flashed through the speeches of some politicians. The reason for this version was the mobilization events taking place in the country.
A message appeared on social networks that NATO ordered the mobilization of 30 Bulgarian troops from May 000, 20. Also, the order number is given - No. 2023-NATO-123.
The Bulgarian media began to unanimously expose this information, claiming that it was a fake. They even created a special section on television - “Hunters of Lies”! The journalists' arguments sound quite convincing. The existence of such a NATO order is refuted, the impossibility of the very fact of the appearance of such an order is proven!
The Bulgarian news agency Focus, in its article, states:
“It is known that NATO does not have the right to give orders to mobilize the army of any of its member countries. The statement that NATO ordered the mobilization of the Bulgarian military is incorrect. No, and there cannot be an order with the help of which NATO mobilizes the Bulgarian military. The alliance does not have such powers - this decision is made by member states. In Bulgaria, mobilization is carried out by order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief-President of the Republic.”
The arguments of the Bulgarian colleagues sound weighty and should reassure alarmed citizens. However, public concern continues to grow. The fact is that just one aspect nullifies the efforts of “investigators” and fighters against “fake” - the very mobilization of the Bulgarian military is still underway! And no one can refute this fact!
Besides, when did NATO adhere to the rules and laws, even those established by them? Military and political expediency has always been the basis of the actions of this military bloc! In Bulgaria they understand this very well...
Representatives of the Ukrainian authorities are also adding fuel to the fire, to the general tense situation. A few days ago, the leader of the third most popular party in the country, Revival, Kostadin Kostadinov made a rather harsh statement.
Kostadinov
On his Facebook page, Kostadin Kostadinov called Ukrainian refugees “tourists who have cost the budget from February to now almost 1 billion leva. He called them “arrogant Nazis” and threatened that “when Renaissance comes to power, he will expel all Ukrainian tourists disguised as refugees.”
In response, the Ukrainian embassy began to throw “thunder and lightning” at the head of the Bulgarian politician! He was accused of supporting “Russian aggression” (Kostadinov didn’t say a word about Rossi! – author.) and stated that “The rhetoric of the leadership of the Revival party has the characteristic features of hate speech and contains incitement towards all temporarily resettled Ukrainians.”
The embassy, in the person of Kostadinov, also saw a threat to “democratic values, fundamental human freedoms, which contradicts the position of Bulgaria as a member country of the EU and NATO”...
The Bulgarian politician addressed his compatriots while on the territory of his (!) state. Kostadinov answered the Ukrainian “diplomats” directly and frankly:
“I remind the Ukrainian embassy that it is located in Bulgaria, not in Ukraine. Therefore, they must reckon with the Bulgarians, and not we with him. This is the first.
Secondly, I remind the arrogant Nazis that I was banned from entering their country for 10 years only because I went to negotiate humanitarian aid for the Bulgarians of Ukraine. So, it is quite brazen to demonstrate concern for its citizens of Bulgarian origin, who are in Bulgaria precisely because of the discriminatory policies of the Kyiv regime.
Thirdly, I declare once again that when the Renaissance begins to rule, all Ukrainian tourists posing as refugees will be expelled from our country. Real tourists from Ukraine paying hotel bills are welcome. Fourthly, the Revival demands autonomy for the Bulgarians in Southern Bessarabia with the capital in Bolgrade, Belgrade or Izmail, which is an ancient Bulgarian land with ancient Bulgarian cities temporarily under Ukrainian administration.
In the end I will add that I really have never seen such impudence! Until now, we have allocated almost 1 billion leva of public funds for the maintenance of Ukrainian tourists, and when we say that we will stop feeding and supporting them, the Ukrainian embassy takes this as an unfriendly act! The sooner Ukraine frees itself from Nazism and fascism, the better for it and its people.”
I believe that the words of the Bulgarian politician do not need any comments. I will add that with such sentiments prevailing in society, the possible dispatch of the Bulgarian military to the zone of armed conflict in Ukraine could turn into a real popular revolt.
Thank you!
