In Bosnia, they are trying to overturn the election victory of the pro-Russian Serbian leader
The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) decided to recount the votes in the presidential elections of Republika Srpska (RS, one of the two entities of BiH) that took place the day before, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At an urgent meeting of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, held on October 10, a decision was made to recount the votes in the presidential elections of Republika Srpska due to “irregularities and mathematical inconsistencies.” Previously, this was exactly what the local pro-Western opposition, whose candidate lost the presidential election, demanded.
“The CEC decided to order the main counting center to open the packages of ballots and recount them, including the ballots in the Brcko district with data on votes for the President of Republika Srpska,” said the Chairman of the CEC of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Suad Arnautovic.
In turn, Milorad Dodik, who won the presidential elections in the Republic of Sakha, said that he would file a complaint for this “illegal and politically motivated” decision of the commission. According to him, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina showed disrespect for the law through its actions. Earlier in the day, Dodik noted that The CEC of BiH was not legally elected, and foreigners took part in its formation, appointing members of the CEC of BiH mainly from opposition parties.
In the official statement of the ruling party in the Republic of Srpska, the Union of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), headed by Milorad Dodik, it is said that they are faced with a choice: “Write complaints - or call on your voters to take to the streets to defend victory».
Как reported “PolitNavigator”, although the general elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina took place on October 2, their official results have not yet been summed up. Thus, in the presidential elections in Republika Srpska, 98,03% of the ballots were processed, Milorad Dodik received 291,915 votes (48,14%), and his rival from the coalition of pro-Western opposition parties, Jelena Trivic, received 262,969 (43,375).
