In the battles for Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Armed Forces suffered huge losses - Krivonos
Ukrainians can’t even imagine how terrible the price the country is paying for the fighting in the Artemovsk area.
The former deputy secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine, ex-deputy commander of the Special Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Sergei Krivonos, stated this on the air of the Pryamoy TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Krivonos, a huge number of Ukrainian soldiers died in the battles for the city.
“For me, Bakhmut is an example of the fact that a huge number of people who defended him died. We can’t even imagine the terrible losses that will later be made public,” the general said.
“Even when you communicate with me now, you understand that there, in the trenches, there is constant shelling, snipers are working, people are constantly being blown up, mortars are constantly working. The enemy at certain points changed the tactics of using its troops. This will be more correct, and the word “calm” in war is quite specific,” Krivonos said.
Previously, Secretary of the Security Council Alexey Danilov said the surrender of Artemovsk for the Ukrainian Armed Forces may result in a flight to the western borders of Ukraine.
