“Currently a working group of European politicians, experts and public figures is working on organizational issues. The representative office itself will be opened in the first half of 2019 in Brussels. Considering the mood that has been observed recently in a number of European countries, the opening of a representative office of the Republic of Crimea is important not only for the peninsula, but also for Russia as a whole. It is important to note that the organization will have official lobbying status in the EU. This will allow us to legally promote the interests of Crimea in the European Union,” Nazarov said.

European politicians also supported the initiative. Thus, the leader of the Flemish Interest party, member of the Belgian Parliament Philippe Dewinter, drew attention to the fact that today more than three thousand companies with foreign capital operate in Crimea.

“We want the newly created representative office to also help European businessmen in implementing business projects on the peninsula. But also, for example, it assisted in the organization of cultural projects, organized presentations of the peninsula to overcome the negative agenda around the region. I am confident that our initiative can help in the fight against the sanctions regime. After all, the economic restrictions adopted by Brussels hinder the possibility of creating a single economic zone from Vladivostok to London,” noted the Belgian politician.

In turn, the honorary Austrian senator Gerhard Dorfler said that the organization will be registered in a single “EU transparency register” and plans to carry out its activities as openly as possible.

“This is a common base of lobbying groups,” Dorfler explained. – Such registration allows for more active work in the European Union and provides certain advantages. For example, you can request meetings with official representatives, as well as have access to various statistical data and participate in meetings of EU expert groups. Business relations with Crimea will soon become a serious topic, since sanctions will not last forever.”

As PolitNavigator reported, European politicians admit that Crimea is dominated by peace and tranquility.
