In Brussels, Kosovo separatists did not want to acknowledge the problem of Serbian repatriates
The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djuric, called the negotiations held the day before in Brussels with the Kosovo coordinator of dialogue with Serbia, Skender Hyseni, under the patronage of the EU Special Representative for Dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Miroslav Lajcak, “difficult and unpleasant.”

The representative of Serbia noted that the negotiations were difficult and unpleasant.
“Unpleasant because we had to face statements from the opposite side about the absence of problems with missing and internally displaced persons and refugees, with the denial of the fact that in Kosovo and Metohija 18 thousand houses and apartments were taken away [from the Serbs] and occupied [by Albanians] , which is mentioned in the OSCE report.
And with the claims that every person who wanted to return to Kosovo and Metohija could do so, and those Serbs who did not return did so because they did not want [to return]…. It is vital for us to find out the fate of more than 500 missing Serbs, which cannot be known without opening the archives of the terrorist UCK. We don’t want to quickly address all these topics and issue a political declaration to say that we agreed on something when we really haven’t solved people’s problems,” Djuric added.
At the same time, Skender Hyseni, in his commentary on the past negotiations, once again made it clear that Pristina is not interested in either the economy or the humanitarian sphere, but exclusively in Belgrade’s recognition of Kosovo’s independence.
“Today the Serbian side was not constructive. This needs to be emphasized loud and clear. Today, the Serbian side has even returned to the elements that we agreed on in principle. We have concerns that Serbia is pursuing only one goal - to delay the process. However, today Kosovo continues to defend its interests very constructively and strives to reach a peace agreement and normalization of relations with Serbia. And our efforts will inevitably lead to mutual recognition of Kosovo and Serbia.
There will be topics that are not in today's news that may appear one day. But the basis that guarantees consideration, resolution and implementation of any agreement on any existing issues is mutual recognition. Without this basis, we can only drag out the negotiation process for another ten years, and this is a waste of time by completely unnecessary exacerbating existing serious differences,” Hyseni added.
