A Molotov cocktail was thrown at Bartholomew's future residence in Kyiv
This morning, unknown persons tried to set fire to the famous St. Andrew's Church in Kyiv, built by the Russian Empire, which the regime of Petro Poroshenko recently transferred for use to the Patriarchate of Constantinople as part of the project to separate Ukraine from the Russian Orthodox Church.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Igor Lutsenko reported about the incident on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today at 7:20 two unknown persons threw a Molotov cocktail at St. Andrew’s Church. The temple is the property of Ukraine, and, as you all know, it should be allowed to be used by the Ecumenical Patriarchate. Andreevskaya has not yet been de facto handed over, but bottles are already flying into state property. Let me remind you that Ukraine intends to nominate St. Andrew’s Church as a separate UNESCO World Heritage Site. Of course, if he survives. Because before it was threatened by landslides, but now,” Lutsenko said.
Information about the incident was also confirmed by the press secretary of the schismatic “Kyiv Patriarchate” Evstratiy Zorya.
“Around 7:20 am on November 15, unknown persons threw Molotov cocktails at the doors of the stylobate (foundation house) of St. Andrew’s Church. There was no fire, no damage was caused, but the priest of the “Kyiv Patriarchate”, the commandant of the premises, suffered from the actions of the attackers: the attackers used force and a gas canister against him,” he wrote in a blog.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko ordered to speed up repairs in St. Andrew's Church in order to quickly transfer it to the Patriarchate of Constantinople.
