There is a scandal in Buryatia - a shaman performed a ritual of expelling an official
On Thursday, April 19, the head of the Investigative Department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Republic of Buryatia, Major General of Justice Andrei Kondin, will visit the Tunkinsky district, meeting with local residents.
The reason is a ritual performed by local shamans in the Tunka village of Toltoy. The purpose of the ritual was to expel the district head Ivan Alkheev with the help of “the lord of the underworld and the supreme ruler of the kingdom of the dead, Erlik Khan.”
A video of the ritual was published by a local journalist on a social network, writes the portal Irkutsk.sibnovosti.
In the region, since the 2016 elections, there has been a fierce political struggle between Alkheev (he won as a self-nominated candidate with a small margin - with 50,24% of the votes) and the United Russia candidate Alamzhi Syrenov.
The object of the ritual, Ivan Alkheev, reacted to what was happening with humor.
“I think it's a very comical story. I treat it with irony. I did not submit any statements to law enforcement agencies or anywhere,” he said.
However, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and then the Investigative Committee, became interested in new political technologies. The head of the Republic of Buryatia, Alexey Tsydenov, considered it reasonable to cancel his vacation and promised to visit the Tunkinsky district in the near future.
