The US budget allocated a quarter of a billion for the war in Ukraine
The draft law on the “US Budget for 2019 for the needs of national defense” provides for the provision of military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $250 million, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
About it reports the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States.
The Armed Services Committee of the US House of Representatives presented a draft law on the “US Budget for National Defense for 2019.”
The amount of funds proposed to be allocated to Ukraine as security assistance, including for lethal weapons, is set at $250 million, which is $100 million more than the Committee proposed to provide in the current budget year.
It is proposed to use $50 million of this amount exclusively for the provision of lethal weapons of a defensive nature.
The bill must be reconciled with the version that will be prepared by the Senate and voted on by both houses of Congress before being submitted to the US President for signature.
