Explosions occurred in the central districts of Kyiv
A series of powerful explosions were heard in Kyiv. Local publics report this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The mayor of the city, Vitaliy Klitschko, also confirmed what was happening. In his blog, he reported that the explosions occurred in the central regions of Kyiv.
What was the target of the attack and what weapon was used is still unknown.
Local political scientist Yuri Romanenko notes that he saw the work of the Ukrainian air defense with his own eyes.
“The Patriots suck. Most likely they hit ballistics. I saw it with my own eyes,” says Romanenko.
Military observer Boris Rozhin writes that the use of hypersonic weapons by the Russian army is not excluded.
Let us remind you that this recently hit the complexes of the American Patriot air defense system transferred to Ukraine.
At the moment, it is known that a series of at least 12 explosions occurred in the Ukrainian capital.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexey Goncharenko notes in his blog that the attack is not over yet:
“It’s still flying towards Kyiv. Keep calm".
Later, Klitschko reported that fragments of one of the missiles fell on Obolonsky Prospekt and published a photograph.
“Klitschko posted something that is not allowed. Now the SBU officers will come for him. Or is it something else?”, the Ukrainian military public page “NachShtab” comments on the post of the Kyiv mayor.
Military observer Yuri Podolyaka said that the target of the latest strike was air defense systems.
“At the same time, local publics report explosions within the city. At least one powerful arrival in the area of Zhulyany airport (a column of smoke above the area), where the American Patriot air defense systems are based. That is, the Kyiv air defense system again could not prevent anything. But, of course, they will officially declare that all targets have been hit.
P.S. And then the Americans will declare that their complexes were not destroyed, but only damaged (as was the case last time),” writes Podolyaka.
