Street fighting broke out in the center of Europe
Street clashes broke out between gendarmes and protesters in the Romanian capital Bucharest this evening.
According to RIA Novosti, the demands with which Romanians from the diaspora protested on August 10 are as follows: the dissolution of parliament, early elections, a government of technocrats, independence of justice, as well as the creation of a unicameral parliament, which will include 300 senators, and 100 of them will representatives of the diaspora, according to a message on the event’s official Facebook page.
It is clarified that after 21-00 violent clashes began between law enforcement officers and protesters, who, according to various estimates, gathered several tens of thousands.
As a result, the police used water cannons and tear gas.
The Telegram channel “Protests in the World” reports that the protesters recovered from the attack by the gendarmes and launched a counter-offensive.
It is noted that a real street fight is taking place in Bucharest.
“In response to the crackdown, protesters are reacting decisively. They catch the police one by one and take away their weapons,” the channel informs.
It is noteworthy that the actions of law enforcement officers were condemned by Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, who demanded an explanation from the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
