A column of mothers of ATO soldiers killed in Donbass passed through the center of Kyiv
Several hundred people went to the center of Kyiv for the “March in Memory of the Mothers of the Fallen ATO Soldiers.”
The action took place on May 8, a date revered in post-Maidan Ukraine instead of Victory Day as the “Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to various estimates, the event was attended by about 250 wives and mothers of ATO soldiers killed in Donbass, as well as “hundreds of military personnel.”
The march went from the building of the Kyiv City State Administration to the memorial “Wall of People's Memory” along Khreshchatyk, through European Square. Participants carried flowers and portraits of deceased relatives in their hands, and the ceremony was accompanied by thematic musical accompaniment.
“We remember our sons who died for our country. Respect to you, mother, for all ages. Kyiv, bow your head! In the column are the mothers of our fallen soldiers, the sons of Ukraine! A day of mourning, a day of remembrance, we remember everyone,” the leader of the action spoke into the loudspeaker.
