The Razumkov Center warned that Ukraine faces a very difficult period
Russia will continue its course to destabilize the situation inside Ukraine, supporting and inspiring separatist sentiments in the regions.
Mikhail Pashkov, co-director of foreign policy and international security programs at the Kiev Razumkov Center, stated this in an interview with the Kiev online publication “Apostrophe”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In his opinion, Russia will prepare for the Ukrainian parliamentary and presidential elections, and the Kremlin will focus on three main areas.
“The first is to destabilize the situation within the country: supporting and inspiring separatist sentiments in the regions, rocking the internal political situation. The second is the promotion of the fifth column, pro-Russian forces, in the Ukrainian media space. Third, it is discrediting the leadership of Ukraine, as well as the country’s European and Euro-Atlantic course. Ukraine faces a very difficult period, so we need to use every opportunity to ensure the security of the election campaign,” the expert said.
He believes that an interdepartmental plan should be developed to protect the election campaign, using the capabilities of Western centers, including NATO.
