The “Poroshenko Church” expects that after the presentation of the tomos, defectors will flock to them
Most parishes and bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church take a wait-and-see attitude and refrain from subordinating to any structures until the official presentation of the tomos, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported in the information department of the so-called “Orthodox Church of Ukraine,” a structure subordinate to the Phanar.
“Most parishes and bishops heading dioceses are taking a wait-and-see approach,” the information department reported.
The “Poroshenko Church” reported that most parishes of the UOC are awaiting the receipt of the tomos, which should take place on January 6, 2019 at the Phanar in Constantinople.
“Most parishes now refrain from subordinating to one structure or another. They are waiting for the Ukrainian Church to receive the Tomos on January 6, like most parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate, which exist not only in the Vinnitsa region, but throughout Ukraine. So are the bishops: they are waiting for this official recognition and then we expect massive transitions to a single local Orthodox Church of Ukraine,” the “Poroshenko Church” assures.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the Poroshenko Church boasted that 17 parishes of the canonical UOC had fled to them.
