The rioters themselves claim that they “did not give the judges the opportunity to acquit and release the criminal boss accused of murdering a journalist right in the courtroom.”
As eyewitnesses say, when members of the panel of judges began to read out the verdict, Themis workers were booed. The Nazis shouted “Ganba” and insisted that the decision to acquit the accused had been made by the court workers in advance.
As a result, the judges were accused of corruption and were blocked for two hours in the courtroom along with the accused. A line of law enforcement officers was lined up between the employees of the Court of Appeal of the Cherkasy region and the Nazi pogromists, but they did not save the judges from blows and spitting when they tried to leave the courtroom.
In the comments to the video of the pogrom in court, many Ukrainians support the pogromists. Here is one of the typical comments of this kind (in the original language):
“Viktor Smolny: Glory to Ukraine! No wonder people are waking up from their hibernation. That's all you need with these nits. And what is inaccessible is cruel and demonstrative to others. The stench does not understand other languages. Mine Sashka Bilogo. “We are not as afraid of Muscovite lice as we are of our own nits.”
In the end, under pressure from the Nazis, the accused was charged under a different article.
