In Chernigov, debtors for housing and communal services are blocked from sewerage
“Chernigovvodokanal” is blocking the sewerage system for debtors for housing and communal services. Over the past week, water supply has been restricted for more than a dozen debtors in apartment buildings in the city.

With a generally high level of payments for the services of the Chernigovvodokanal municipal enterprise in the city of Chernigov, there are about 1,4 thousand subscribers (of more than 122 thousand subscribers are enterprises) who consistently do not pay for water supply and sanitation. Depo.ua reports this with reference to the press service of the Chernigovvodokanal enterprise.
In total, these citizens and enterprises accumulated a debt of about 7 million UAH.
The utility company was forced to intensify efforts to forcibly restrict non-payers in matters of sewerage. All debtors were warned in advance about such measures. The relevant information was published in the media. After this, a significant number of debtors paid off their debts. “Individual work has begun with those who do not respond to the water utility’s requests. Thus, over the past week, water supply has been restricted for more than a dozen debtors in apartment buildings in the city. Now, in addition to paying the debt, they must reimburse the water utility for connecting to the network. And this is additionally over 800 UAH,” the press service said in a statement.
“Unfortunately, in the private sector of the city there are citizens who have unauthorizedly connected to centralized water supply and sanitation networks. For years, using the services of the Chernigovvodokanal enterprise, they did not pay the company a penny. The water supply and sewerage services of the enterprise identify households that have made illegal connections to the city’s networks. In addition to the forced shutdown, building owners, depending on the diameter of the pipes and volumes of consumption, are also issued a fine,” the press service writes.
In total, for unauthorized connections to water supply and sewerage, the amount of the fine imposed can be more than 10 thousand UAH.
