In Chernigov, authorities are putting pressure on transport workers not to play Russian music on minibuses.
The Department of Culture of the Chernigov City Council appealed to colleagues from the Department of Transport and the Department of Economic Development to “take into account the current socio-political situation and conduct “political information” with the business community” regarding the ban on the sound of Russian music in public transport in the city.

“In response to the petition to ban the sound of Russian music and Russian-language radio stations in transport, in cafes/restaurants and other public places, officials will recommend that entrepreneurs be more careful when choosing a repertoire,” the publication says.
According to the head of the cultural department of the Chernigov City Council, Yuriy Tkach, an appeal will be drawn up to carriers, restaurateurs and owners of retail establishments. In it they will be asked to show patriotism and citizenship and take musical compositions from the repertoire of Ukrainian performers as a basis.
The publication recalls that the petition to ban Russian music collected 262 electronic signatures on the City Council website in less than a month, which was the reason for the response from officials.
Let us remind you that recently deputies of the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law according to which songs in the Ukrainian language must make up at least 35% of the airwaves of radio stations. Presenters were required to broadcast at least 60% of their broadcasts in Ukrainian.
