Russian “stalker” detained in Chernobyl zone

A citizen of the Russian Federation, for the purpose of extreme tourism and recreation, tried to enter the exclusion zone around the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, but was detained by border guards.

About it reported the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, “PolitNavigator” correspondent reports.

The young man tried to enter the restricted area on foot outside the control points. As it turned out, the 19-year-old Russian was on the territory of Ukraine legally and arrived in the prescribed manner.

The detainee has now been taken to the National Police unit. For violation of radiation safety regulations in areas exposed to radioactive contamination, appropriate documents have been drawn up against the offender.

Earlier, Zhytomyr border guards detained two stalkers, citizens of Russia and Ukraine, in the area of ​​the exclusion zone.
