The upper house of the Spanish Parliament ratified the protocol on Montenegro's accession to NATO, thus Montenegro will officially become a member of the North Atlantic Alliance on June 5.

As the publication notes, after depositing the document of ratification of the treaty, which will take place on June 5, Montenegro will officially become a member of NATO.
It is noted that the day before, May 10, the Upper House of the Spanish Parliament ratified the protocol on Montenegro’s accession to NATO. Thus, Spain became the 27th member of the Alliance to ratify Montenegro's accession to NATO.
It is also reported that the national procedure has been completed in the Netherlands. After June 1, the act of ratification in this country will come into force, and then the ratification process will be officially completed in all NATO member states.
Let us recall that on April 28, the parliament of Montenegro, with a scandal and in the absence of the opposition that left the meeting room, ratified the agreement on NATO membership. The country remains divided on this issue.
