Danilograd Serbian activist Mitar Pavicevic hung the Serbian tricolor above his family’s semi-abandoned house. According to him, when three municipal police officers saw the flag - Dejan Stojović, Vuk Marković and Milovan Popović, they ordered the Serb to take it down and he, not wanting a conflict with law enforcement officers, obeyed.

However, when he came down from the roof to the ground, the police twisted his arm and threw him to the ground, kicking him several times in the torso. After which one of the law enforcement officers grabbed him by the throat with the words: “Let me strangle him so that he never causes problems again!”

After municipal police hit Pavicevic with a flag, breaking the flagpole, they finally left the Serb, who called the state police. After the crew arrived, he drove to the nearest police station, where he wrote a statement against the offenders. He also recorded the beatings inflicted on him.

Typically, after incidents with fines, entry restrictions and arrests for both local and visiting Albanians for hanging their flags in public places, ethnic Albanians in the leadership of Montenegro, with the participation of local Albanian parties and the leadership of neighboring Albania, managed to obtain permission to hang Albanian flags flags on the territory of Montenegro.

At the same time, the Serbian tricolor is still banned in this country, and prosecution for its public use was not practiced only at rallies of the Montenegrin opposition, when law enforcement officers were afraid of provoking the masses.
