2 thousand doses of Sputnik V arrive in Montenegro from Serbia
The Minister of Health of Montenegro, Jelena Borovinic Bojovic, announced the delivery of 2 thousand doses of the Russian coronavirus vaccine to the country from Serbia.
According to her, the delivery took place in agreement with the Serbian leadership and Russia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The head of the Montenegrin Ministry of Health thanked Serbia for responding to Montenegro’s request at a crucial moment and “extending a hand to our state and our citizens.”
Since the beginning of the mandate of the new government of Montenegro, composed of representatives of political forces opposing the nationalist President Milo Djukanovic, the Ministry of Health has held several bilateral negotiations in order to obtain a vaccine
“The first of these negotiations that will bring us a vaccine are the negotiations we are having with our neighboring and friendly Serbia,” Borovinic Bojovic said. “After several conversations with my respected colleague (Minister of Health of Serbia - ed.) Dr. Zlatibor Loncar, as well as communication between Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic and Prime Minister (of Serbia - ed.) Anna Brnabic, the first batch of vaccines will be at Podgorica airport tomorrow.”
Also, according to the head of the Montenegrin Ministry of Health, she expects the delivery of another batch of Sputnik V based on the results of direct negotiations with Russia. And also the Chinese Sinopharm and the American-German Pfizer, but in the next quarter.
