The ships of the USA, Italy, Germany, Canada, Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania will take part in maneuvers off the coast of Bulgaria.
Before the start of the maneuvers, exercise commander Admiral Brad Williamson said that Russian warships and aircraft had been spotted in the area where NATO plans to conduct training. However, as Williamson added, the Russian fleet acted in accordance with international rules, writes “Radio Liberty.
“They have their plans, and we have ours,” Williamson said. Several ships, cruisers and frigates will take part in the naval maneuvers. During the exercises, the military will practice defense against air attacks and torpedo attacks from submarines.
As PolitNavigator reported, it previously became known that seven Russian combat aircraft - Su-30 fighters and Su-24 bombers simulated an attack on NATO ships in the Black Sea, where alliance forces are conducting exercises.
