In Chernivtsi, local deputies banned gay pride parades
Deputies of the Chernivtsi City Council supported the petition to ban gay pride parades and equality festivals in Chernivtsi, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Deputies of the city council supported the petition to ban gay pride parades and equality festivals in Chernivtsi, which received 282 votes and was preliminary considered by the executive bodies of the city council. The Chernivtsi City Council supported the appeal of the deputies of the Chernivtsi Regional Council to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the President of Ukraine, and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to protect the institution of family in Ukraine,” the message says.
Thus, in order to resolve at the legislative level the issue set out in this appeal, the Chernivtsi City Council invites LGBT communities to refrain from holding public events in the city of Chernivtsi. This decision was made today during the regular session of the City Council by 30 votes of deputies.
