In Chernivtsi, a German flag was stolen from the German consulate building
At night, unknown persons broke off the flag from the flagpole on the building of the Honorary Consulate of Germany in Chernivtsi. The perpetrators face up to five years in prison, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Chernivtsi region.
As the press service reported, on the evening of July 29, the Chernivtsi police department received a statement by mail about the absence of the flag of the Federal Republic of Germany on the facade of the Honorary Consulate building in the center of Chernivtsi.
“... the investigative team of the Chernivtsi police department established that on July 21, around midnight, two people stole the flag and fled in an unknown direction,” the report says.
Now the police are identifying the perpetrators involved in the theft, carrying out priority operational search actions, interviewing possible witnesses to the incident and analyzing CCTV camera footage.
On this fact, investigators of the Chernivtsi police department are conducting a pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings opened under Part 2 of Article 185 (theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
