As PolitNavigator reported, in the village of Berehomet, Chernivtsi region, on January 14, at about 4 a.m., an SUV drove into a group of people walking along the roadway. All the pedestrians were Malankaras. As a result of the collision, a 31-year-old local resident died. Ten more people sought medical help at the central regional hospitals in the cities of Vizhnitsa and Storozhinets. Four of them were hospitalized with severe injuries. The driver left the car and fled the scene.
Today, the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that they found the body of a 25-year-old man: according to preliminary data, he committed suicide.
Additionally, Law enforcement officers established the details of the accident on the night of January 14. There were 12 people in the SUV that hit the Malankara, some of them were even sitting on the roof of the car. All of them were also Malankaras. The car itself, which did not belong to the driver and did not have proper documents, was moving with its headlights off. Law enforcement officers assume that the driver simply lost control of the unfamiliar car and, while over-gasping, instead of stopping the car, increased speed and drove into another group of Malankaras.
