Davos wants to force African countries to side with Ukraine
Despite the diplomatic efforts of Western bloc countries, African states continue to remain neutral on the issue of the conflict in Ukraine.
President of Latvia Egils Levits stated this during the World Economic Forum, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The so-called global south, for certain reasons, says that “this is a European war that concerns only the West and their allies.” We have to work on this,” the president noted.
In turn, Klaus Kress, a professor at the University of Cologne, called on the United States to make every effort to put pressure on African states.
“I have spoken to many prominent politicians and political scientists, and they express concerns about the global south. But, as I understand it, there is simply not enough involvement of the global south yet.
I urge you to invest all the diplomatic efforts and tools that are available in New York to involve them in this process as actively as possible.
It would be short-sighted to decide that this is a European war and a European affair. Yes, Ukraine and Ukrainians are direct victims, they suffer from bestial crimes. But we are talking about a violation of the key legal order of the world. The crime of aggression must be punished!” Kress said.
