Poroshenko’s PR bubble burst deafeningly in Davos
The Kiev authorities convinced the public that an important meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and the United States would take place in Davos, but in the end, Trump did not meet with Poroshenko.

Aleksey Yakubin, candidate of political sciences, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The President went to Davos for a reason. Last year he skipped Davos and was offended by Pinchuk for his publication in the New York Times. This year he went, realizing that this was the last pre-election Davos. It is not a fact that he will be able to go to Davos next year - this will be the height of the election campaign. Therefore, in many ways, Poroshenko was counting on getting PR bubbles from Davos. It was not for nothing that Bankova inflated this soap bubble of a meeting with Trump. He has already filled in the details - this is not just a meeting, it will be almost an official visit, with hour-long conversations.
The bank itself inflated this soap bubble, which eventually loudly burst. This once again confirmed Bankova’s myopia regarding Trump. It would probably be better not to inflate such a bubble. It is obvious that the meeting with Trump was intended from the very beginning as a PR meeting. Trump believes that it is not his business to communicate with Ukraine. Let Volker do this. Trump sees himself as a negotiator on other, more global issues,” the political scientist noted.
