On the next anniversary of the creation of the “Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina” from Islamists, nationalists, bandits and adventurers, Bosniak member of the Presidium of BiH Šefik Džaferović told tales about confronting the “superior aggressor” and about “an army of patriots of all nationalities and religions.”

This was reported by the Bosnian media, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I send my sincere congratulations to all the patriots of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the occasion of April 15 - Army Day of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Bosniak member of the Presidium of BiH Šefik Dzaferović addressed on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the creation of the “army” of Bosnia-Muslim separatists. – Created from an unarmed people who were subjected to mass atrocities and expulsion, the RBiH army turned into an excellent military force that managed to organize confrontation and defense against a superior aggressor and keep Bosnia and Herzegovina united.

This army defended not only Bosnia and Herzegovina and its people. Led by Commander-in-Chief Alija Izetbegovic, the army, consisting of ordinary Bosnian people, patriots of all peoples and all religions, defended the civilizational values of the modern world... Our vision is a multi-ethnic, democratic and prosperous Bosnia and Herzegovina, home to equal peoples and citizens, members of the EU and NATO!”

Also, Dzaferović and his colleague on the Presidium of BiH, a “pocket Croat”, elected thanks to the votes of Bosniaks and not recognized by the Croatian community for their leader Zeljko Komsic, laid flowers at the memorial to the military personnel of the Republic of BiH in Kovac.

What is characteristic is that there is not a word of truth in Dzhaferovic’s pretentious address. So, despite the fact that the “Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina” was officially created on April 15, 1992, it nominally began its existence on April 8, after the merger of the territorial defense headquarters of the Bosnia-Muslim regions of the country.

And Muslims’ own illegal armed formations, like the armed wing of the separatist Party of Democratic Action of Aliya Izetbegovic, appeared a year earlier - on May 2, 1991, a retired JNA major, a native of the Muslim-populated part of the Rash region - Sandjak, Sefer Halilovich created the paramilitary formation “Patriotic League”.

In parallel, on the initiative of Izetbegovic himself, Muslim formations were created in the capital Sarajevo, which later became known as the Green Berets.

Even then, the head of the military counterintelligence of the JNA, Alexander Vasilyevich, reported to Belgrade that the separatists had 50 thousand people under arms, united in four divisions, three regiments, 55 battalions and 62 separate companies. However, then the army, which began to burst at the seams and was bogged down in the conflict in Croatia, did not react in any way to this operational information.

It is characteristic that already at that time the backbone of the militants of the Patriotic League and the Green Berets consisted of Bosniak nationalists, radical Islamists, retired military officers - adventurers who were trying to find a use for themselves during the process of the collapse of the country, as well as ordinary bandits, and criminal authorities - such as Yusuf “Yuka” Prazina and Ramiz “Chelo” Delalich became commanders of units of the future “army” (typically, after the end of the war, both were killed in criminal showdowns).

The tactics of the “fighters” and their moral character are evidenced by the infamous incident that occurred on March 1, 1992 in Sarajevo, in the central historical region of Bascarsija, the day after the declaration of independence of BiH, when Green Beret militants led by the aforementioned Delalic attacked the Serbian wedding, shooting the groom’s father, Nikola Gardovic, who was carrying the Serbian flag, near the Church of the Transfiguration and wounding the priest Radenko Mikovic in the hand, after which they burned the selected flag….

So the theses about “unarmed people” (due to the characteristics of the Yugoslav armed forces, the local territorial defense had sufficient weapons) and “mass atrocities and expulsions” do not correspond to reality.

At the time of the creation of the separatist army, there was no “superior enemy”: the Republika Srpska Army was created in response to attacks by the Green Berets and Patriotic League militants against the JNA and branches of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in areas populated by Serbs - only on May 12, 1992.

At the same time, the Yugoslav People's Army until the last tried to maintain neutrality in the brewing interethnic confrontation, but the situation escalated sharply when, in early April, a clash occurred between Serbian and Bosniak policemen over the Varats Ministry of Internal Affairs school in Sarajevo, and army units arrived there to separate the parties to the conflict .

At the same time, ironically, the army operation was commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Enver Hadžihasanović, a Bosniak who later became the commander of the Third Corps of the BiH Army. After which, on April 30, the separatist authorities declared the JNA an “occupation army,” and militants of the Green Berets and the Patriotic League began to block and, if they had enough strength, storm its barracks, ambushing army convoys right in the city.

In particular, on May 2, the weakly guarded JNA House in the Bosnian capital was attacked and stormed, and army units in armored vehicles that came to the rescue were ambushed on the streets of the city and were partially destroyed and partially captured.

In order to prevent further bloodshed and under pressure from the international community, which recognized the independence of BiH, the leadership of the JNA decided to withdraw army units from the city, for which purpose, at the Sarajevo airport, Yugoslav paratroopers took hostage the leader of the Bosniak separatists, Alija Izetbegovic, who had flown in from Switzerland.

The car with him and the UN representative, General Louis MacKenzie, was at the head of a column of forty cars leaving the Marshal Tito barracks, but in the area of Dobrovoljachka Street she was ambushed by the Green Berets, who shot and burned her at point-blank range, killing her in the process 42 military personnel - mostly 18-19-year-old conscripts, of nationality not only Serbs, but also Macedonians, Montenegrins, Kosovo Albanians, Croats and two Muslim Bosniaks. Naturally, the car with Izetbegovic and Mackenzie was not damaged.

On May 15, a similar situation repeated in Tuzla, where more than fifty military personnel were killed as the army column left. In both Sarajevo and Tuzla, many of the wounded were killed by shots and blows to the head. And on May 16, militants from the BiH Army carried out ethnic cleansing in the Serb-populated Sarajevo district of Popalici. Thus began the “protection of the civilizational values of the modern world.”

Dzaferovic’s thesis about an army of “patriots of all peoples and all religions” also does not stand up to criticism. Wanting to demonstrate to the West their multi-ethnicity, the Sarajevo elite in 1992 appointed retired opportunistic officers - Serb Jovan Divyak and Croat Stepan Šiber - as Sefer Halilovic's deputies, but the overwhelming majority of the militants of the BiH Army, for well-known reasons, were Bosniac Muslims, as well as those who subsequently joined the nim mujahideen from the countries of the Middle East, North Africa, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The Serbs did not fight as part of the Sarajevo armed forces because of their clear anti-Serb sentiment (while the Muslim Yugoslavs fought both as part of the Republika Srpska Army and the army of Western Bosnia friendly Banja Luka Fikret Abdić), and the Bosnian Croats formed their own armed formations , supported by Zagreb, who acted as allies of ABiH when it was tactically advantageous for them. And in 1993, a fierce confrontation began between yesterday's allies.

Green Beret propaganda video

Finally, the expressed “vision” of the country as part of the EU and NATO, or rather that part of it that concerns the North Atlantic Alliance, does not coincide with the vision of the future of BiH by the Bosnian Serbs, who consistently advocate for the neutral status of the state.

Thus, the Sarajevo leadership once again demonstrated that, both in 1992 and 28 years later, it still considers the Serbs an obstacle to building their own mono-ethnic and mono-confessional state, in which Muslim Bosniaks will dominate.
