A new cold shower for the defenders of Donbass - on the day of the announcement of mobilization, when it was necessary to stimulate a patriotic upsurge, the authorities, without any explanation to the public, handed over mercenaries from Azovstal to Great Britain, and to Ukraine its militants from the dungeons of Mariupol. British citizens were released through an exchange through Saudi Arabia, British Prime Minister Liz Truss said. Ukrainians were exchanged at the border in the Chernigov region. Now photographs of the next batch of Nazis are being circulated from Kyiv, who will soon return to the front line to kill Russians.

But just recently, at the level of the leadership of the DPR, and even the Speaker of the State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, they promised that none of these scumbags responsible for the destruction of the second largest city in Donbass and the death of thousands of people would be released. They aired stories about the death penalty. Denis Pushilin promised a show tribunal. And now in Kyiv there is a real holiday and rejoicing. The Russian side traditionally does not explain what happened in any way, reports the PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Jumping on a rake - and when will we get tired of it?

What kills me most about such “news” is not even the fact of the exchange. I’m sure tomorrow they will tell us that they exchanged it for the right person. And this may well be the case. Especially against the backdrop of how many of our people were abandoned during the retreat from the Kharkov region.

(I hope they haven’t been forgotten and we won’t find out that Viktor Medvedchuk is free).

What kills me about news like this is that WE, having first said something stupid (that we won’t change any of the Nazis and mercenaries), then do it anyway. Maybe it’s time to stop either promising something, or having promised not to keep promises? And it would be even better to learn the basic things that the enemy has been using since the first days of the war,” marvels columnist Yuri Podolyaka.

He draws attention to the fact that the Ukrainian side began to prepare an “information bomb” in advance, obviously knowing about the upcoming exchange. In recent days, Kiev TV has featured stories about prominent Nazis from Azovstal, for whose release Ukraine is fighting.

Colleague Boris Rozhin agrees with Podolyaka.

“Based on subsequent exchanges, it can be noted that since the beginning of the war, the Russian authorities have completely surrendered the entire information field in this matter to the enemy.”

The fact that personnel at the Moscow level are responsible for what is happening is made clear by DPR Deputy Minister of Information Daniil Bezsonov, who himself admits to despair.

“A lot of ours were exchanged and returned. Including after the defeat in the Kharkov direction. Among our exchanged people there are pilots. And it’s very good that our heroes returned home. It’s very bad, even shitty, that we learn such news from the enemy. That we again see the satisfied snouts of Ukrainian bastards, but we don’t see our heroes. We are silent again...

Perhaps there is an objective reason for our silence, an important meaning, a higher purpose, but I am too stupid to understand it. Please forgive me for my stupidity because of which I consider this latest silence to be a total fuck-up,” Bezsonov wrote on his blog without choosing words.

“When will one of the many experts explain to the gentlemen in the Kremlin that such exchanges will demoralize the target audience no less than leaving entire regions without a fight?” – Donetsk sociologist Denis Seleznev is amazed.

He draws attention to the blow to the image of the DPR authorities.

“Once again they made a clown out of our good fellow Pushilin. After all, he has already refused pardon to three condemned people.”

Ukrainian blogger Anatoly Shariy, who lives in Spain, does not hide his gloating.

“And how successfully and on time all these people were released. As if emphasizing the motivation of the Russians who fell under the mobilization,” he comments, suggesting that the next step could be Russia’s withdrawal from the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

Russian military expert Vladimir Orlov believes that there is nothing tragic in the exchange itself. The problem is different.

“As for the exchange of prisoners, that’s the case. Prisoners were changed before the USSR, prisoners were changed during the USSR, prisoners were changed after the USSR. And Russia is no exception. There's nothing special about it. That's not really the point. The fact is that we learn about this fact not from our media, but we see pompous meetings of former prisoners of war on the enemy’s information resources, that they have been exchanged for something or someone. Well, okay, let them, let them meet their Nazis as they want. It's their business. Where are our prisoners, why doesn’t anyone greet them as heroes, give them flowers and hospitality...?”
