On Republic Day, “Night Wolves”, “Masha and the Bear” and drummers took to the streets of Donetsk
Today a solemn procession in honor of Republic Day took place in Donetsk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Let us note that according to official data, about 35 thousand people took part in the event.
The column of participants started from the Central Hotel, located near Lenin Square, and advanced to the Olimpiysky regional sports complex, where a concert took place afterwards.
The famous bikers from the Night Wolves club, who moved in front of the column, became a kind of “highlight” of the procession. They were followed by the Chairman of the National Assembly of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, who was accompanied by deputies. After them, representatives of public organizations “Donetsk Republic” and “Young Republic” marched in a solemn formation.
After this, the procession continued with representatives of the cities, who carried banners with the inscriptions “Donetsk is a hero city”, “May 11 - a step into the future” and so on.
Participants in the procession carried sculptures of Masha and the Bear from the cartoon of the same name, as well as a dove of peace made from balloons.
Let us note that residents of those cities of Donbass that are under the control of Ukraine also took part in the solemn procession.
After the completion of the procession, the head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, and the President of the Republic of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, went to the Lenin Komsomol Park to lay flowers at the monument to the “Dead Residents of the Donetsk People’s Republic.”
Currently, a concert of Russian pop stars is taking place at the RSC Olimpiysky.
