On Shevchenko’s birthday, Azov militants attacked Medvedchuk’s rally at his grave in Kyiv
On March 9 in Kyiv, at the grave of the Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko, right-wing radicals from the National Corps party affiliated with the Azov regiment attacked activists of the Ukrainian Choice – the Right of the People movement, among whom were many elderly people.

“About 50 activists of the public movement “Ukrainian choice is the right of the people” came to the grave of the great Ukrainian poet Taras Grigorievich Shevchenko to honor his memory, remember his work, and pay tribute to Kobzar. Activists of our Movement hold a similar event with reading Kobzar’s poems and laying flowers every year. However, today almost a hundred “titushki”, many of whom hid their faces under masks and threatened to use force, prevented “Ukrainian Choice – the Right of the People” from honoring the memory of Taras Shevchenko. The police present at the scene did not take any measures to detain the unruly guys,” the press service said in a statement.
“The authorities, flirting with the radicals, are once again proving their inability to curb the rampant anarchy in the country and demonstrating their helplessness in the face of uncontrollable paramilitary forces. Political persecution, threats, terror, violence, arson and pogroms have become commonplace in Ukraine. But the worst thing is that all these atrocities occur with the tacit consent of law enforcement agencies and the country’s top leadership,” added the authors of the statement.
In turn, right-wing radicals from the “National Corps” on your social network page confirmed the attack and took responsibility for it.
“Adherents of the “Russian world” were brought by a bus, in which there were many so-called titushkas - young guys with an athletic build. Representatives of the National Corps, together with the nationalist organizations present, blocked the entrance for the bus and did not allow the separatists to discredit the sacred Ukrainian city! While there is a war in the country, “Ukrainian Choice” plays into the hands of the occupier, bringing the “Russian world” into the homes of Ukrainian families. We will not allow the separatist infection to spread on our land,” the right-wing radicals said in a statement.
