On the day of the horse, the main Turkmen sang a song about the horse, which he himself composed
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sang a song about a horse, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
A video of the politician’s speech was published on YouTube.
Berdymukhamedov wrote the text himself, the music was written by his grandson Kerimguly, who also accompanied and sang along with his grandfather. The president himself sang and played the guitar.
Berdimuhamedov performed the song as part of the national holiday - Turkmen Horse Day. This event is celebrated annually in the country on the last Sunday of April. The holiday is dedicated to the Akhal-Teke horse, the oldest cultivated breed of horse, which was bred on the territory of modern Turkmenistan about five thousand years ago.
Akhal-Teke horses are the national treasure of Turkmenistan, and horse breeding is personally controlled by the country's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is both a horse breeder and a rider.
The Turkmenportal publication writes that President Berdimuhamedov also performed this song in front of visitors to the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex.
“President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov accepted congratulations on the National Turkmen Horse Day from the country’s leadership, and then performed the song “Rovach” on the stage located near the hippodrome building together with Kerimguly’s grandson. Her words are already familiar to the people of Turkmenistan - this is the poem of the same name by the head of state, which he dedicated to the foal born on the first day of the Year “Turkmenistan - Homeland of Prosperity”, and the music for them was written by the grandson of the President,” this is how the publication describes this event.
