“Ukraine and the world have a common vision of possible prospects for holding exercises of the Russian Armed Forces. The upcoming Zapad 2017 exercise is extremely powerful. They can be used to launch aggression not only against Ukraine, but also against any European country that shares a common border with Russia. We will respond adequately to these exercises,” Poltorak said in a statement.
Interestingly, the document was published on the day when President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is visiting Kyiv.
Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian General Staff Viktor Muzhenko explained that During the Zapad-2017 exercises, Russia will transfer a large army group to Belarus.
“The number of cars planned for transporting troops is more than 4 thousand units. They were ordered to transport materiel and personnel to the territory of Belarus to participate in these exercises, which is three times the requirement,” said Muzhenko.
